Built from the current reissue of the 1/25 scale Class Action Monte Carlo, painted in Dupli-Color GM Light Blue Metallic and cleared with Rust-Oleum. The kit offers a landau top that covers the C-pillar but I always preferred these cars with the canopy style landau roof.. I bordered the covered section with a strip of .015x.30 styrene and misted flat white with a light coat of clear satin to create the top.  The kit assembled nicely and the only real issue I encountered was a bulged drivers side fender which I remedied by running a couple strips of styrene under each fender and gluing the hood shut. I still built the motor but hung onto nonvisible parts like the air cleaner which I saved in the parts box.  While I'll always prefer the two generations of the Monte Carlo that preceded these third generation G-bodies I still think these '78-'80 versions are pretty decent looking cars. IMHO anyway.

Great looking paint finish and color. Like the changes to the vinyl roof treatment. Nice to see a showroom style build like this once in a while.

Thanks David. I agree these aren't always done factory like and for that matter not posted all too often.

That's beautiful! I had a 78, and my best friend had a 79 with that type of vinyl roof.

Thanks Jeff. With the Landau roof, T-tops or two tone these could be very sharp looking cars.

Nice Monte Carlo, I need to get one of these kits. Well done Tom.

Thanks Harry. It's a decent kit. Just needs some extra work here and there.

What a Great Build! That car looks like the ones I would see around town all through the 1980s. I like it in the Blue.

Good Show.

Thanks Alan. Despite their popularity it's rare to see this generation of the Monte Carlo even at car shows today.
