I remember that era well. We lived on the Jersey coast about 60 miles south of NYC, and would often go to the city on weekends.

Thanks for the pictures. To try and answer your question of what year was the photo with the cobblestone street in it. I noticed two '55-year model taxi's going away from the camara the closest one being a Plymouth and the one in front of it is a Ford. The little car at the curb facing the camara looks like it could be a Hillmen Minx.
