RDean58 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I swapped out the way big donk wheels for a set of Aoshima 20's, other than that this is box stock. I love the stock decals! Thanks for looking.
roadhawg Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Very nice. This is probably the best build I've seen of this kit, and makes ME want to build one! lol! Not sure what it is, but those wheels don't look like 20s.....they look good, just a little small. The color is perfect for that car.
ucntcme Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Looks good! Check out the one I did, let me know what you think.
Glen G. Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 looks real good! how did you like the kit? i have this one and i didnt enjoy it. i actually didnt finish it but may rob some parts for another build.
george 53 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 That's a NICE build! Shows what a really nice looking car the STS is. A little bigger than a CTS,but just as nimble and fast! That's a REAL NICE build,of a REAL NICE CAR!!!! GREAT JOB!
Harry P. Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Does that kit let you build a stock model? As in, with door handles?
RDean58 Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 Does that kit let you build a stock model? As in, with door handles? Nope, there are no stock door handles, wheels/tires, or interior. It would take a lot of scratch building to convert it over to stock. Some people have done it, but I just wanted a fun quick build. Thanks.
RDean58 Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 Looks good! Check out the one I did, let me know what you think. I actually liked the kit a lot. For what it is, its a pretty good model and easy to put together. Not bad at all. I know it is aimed at younger audiences and I can see kids putting this together with no problems.
Merkur XR4Ti Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 (edited) Nope, there are no stock door handles, wheels/tires, or interior. It would take a lot of scratch building to convert it over to stock. Some people have done it, but I just wanted a fun quick build. Thanks. I'm reasonably sure the interior is stock. Here's mine. I "faked" door handles by gluing small pieces of styrene strip on there and sanding them down into a very slight curved shape. They look pretty convincing from about a foot away. I wanted this thing to look as stock as possible, so I glued the trunk and doors into the body and used Aoshima wheels and tires although I like yours better RDean. Edited May 8, 2009 by Merkur XR4Ti
janositamas Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Ver nice build, it looks way too cool in black, the Kranze rims are just perfect! I also built mine stock, I used some leftover doorhandles from a S600 Benz and converted the doors to normal instead of the gullwings...
