Mike 1017 Posted Thursday at 02:48 PM Posted Thursday at 02:48 PM My wife and want to go on an Alaskan Cruise. Mt. Spur has been showing signs of erupting. Should I be concerned about this? Mike
stitchdup Posted Thursday at 04:14 PM Posted Thursday at 04:14 PM no, unless your cruise ship goes on land. the ship might keep you inside if theres lots of ash/dust but they would sail away from that pretty fast. if you have to fly to get to the ship, that might be an issue as jet engines wont work well in ash
1930fordpickup Posted Thursday at 06:12 PM Posted Thursday at 06:12 PM They will keep you safe but if there is something you want to see you may miss the beauty of an Alaskan Cruise because of it.

Mike 1017 Posted Sunday at 01:56 PM Author Posted Sunday at 01:56 PM Thanks Guys. It looks we will be cruising Alaska 1
slusher Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Mt Saint Helen’s blew ash across all of Montana butt pilots flew around the one in Iceland for a year. I wouldn’t let it spoil my plans..
rattle can man Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago As stated, ash would definitely affect flights more than ships. But I would go. Alaska is incredibly beautiful. I was stationed there for 3 years and did have one flight home delayed a day by ash. 1
