JRB Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Hello one and all I've just signed up to the site so thought I'd introduce myself. I'm English, born and bred in North Lincolnshire where I started my modeling - the usual boy's stuff of battleships etc. but wasn't very good at it! Later in life I restarted modelling - bought the Hellier Gorch Foch (yes, I now, it's not a car!!) got about half-way through then life got in the way and so the ship went back in it's box. A few years ago, I started modelling again - ships again, this time plank on plank sailing ships. Taking a break, I decided to go back to plastic - but ships again, this time (as I grew up in a fishing town) the Revell North Sea Trawler). Then came Christmas and I spotted the Revell 1:24 E-Type Jag model. I sent a note to Father Christmas which must have arrived as I found the model under the tree!! So there you are. Luckily, I have good tools from my ship building (files, tweezers, cutters, knives, paint brushes, making tape etc) so all I needed was to get the paints. Wow - so now I have a box of 20 or so paints, plus decal fixing solution, thinners, different glues, sharpies, a molotow liquid chrome pen and polishing compounds. My model is nearly there - added some mods and a little weathering and starting to think about my next car model - which might be another e-type which i would build as a left-hand drive version.. Look forward to being in touch John 4
