Carmak Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Within the last few days Steve Magnante has released multiple new Model Car posts on YouTube. They are about the Resin JoHan Powell truck (two posts), a 70's AWB Cadillac build and a new Revell 71 Mustang AWB build. He also re-released an older post about Jo-Han 66 Cadillac Ambulances and Hearses. Very happy to see that Steve has recovered with enough dexterity to build models again! 7
Ulf Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Thank you, I would not have wanted to miss that. First of all, it's great to see how well Steve has recovered but of course it's also great to see the Jo-Han kit being built. Steve builds both very strictly and well while the cars are extreme. His moodboards are something I should probably emulate. 1

I was wondering what happened to him; watched his other show on TV, the Junkyard Gold show which was super cool; I hope he can come back with new episodes of that show. So did he get sick or something? I didn’t hear anything about that, just that he kinda disappeared from TV. Watched the one season he did of the model car show he had and then that was it.

Steve got Encephalitis and nearly died. He was in a coma for 5 months. He had to sell his house and 1:1 cars. I am really glad he hung onto his models. 1 2

Jim Dodson Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I contracted encephalitis in 1963 and was pretty much a knot on a log for over a year and then suffered from the brain damage for the rest of my life...at least that's what my friends and family say, and I welcome the excuse LOL! 1
webestang Posted Saturday at 06:34 PM Posted Saturday at 06:34 PM So glad to hear Steve is back! That motivates me to get my model table set up and get back to building in my new house.

He does small,in-depth history on many vehicles and even parts, and some model related things. I've actually been to the yard where he films the channel, and have met him in person. Very nice, but private kinda guy. Shook his hand, complimented his channel and kept it moving. He cruises the larger swap meets at my hometown dragstrip, lebanon valley dragway. 1
