Strange computer-related issue

I enjoy participating in meme threads on some other boards, but lately I've started seeing something I don't understand. I usually copy/paste some of the better memes I create and email them to a couple friends, but a few of them have told me recently that some of the links just result in a message on their screen that says Bad Request. I don't understand why that happens because the link is still working fine in the thread.

Again, this is something that only started happening in the last month, and I haven't made any changes to my setup.

I'm confused.  You are creating memes?  You mean on meme generators websites? Then copy/paste what?  The image file (JPG, GIF, etc) containing the meme, or a URL link to the meme hosted elsewhere on the internet?  Can you give some specific example?

I've tried to answer this in depth two times and both attempts (100% text) got kicked completely off the board.

Someone from the other board did supply a comprehensive answer, so I'll take that and run.
