moonlite5hadow Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 small update. move the filter into cooler air, and BOV moved. also added front strut and chassis braces and some bracing in the cabin (not pictured)
moonlite5hadow Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 also did this just for laughs and to see the reaction. the same car show i went to that inspired me to do an RB swapped 240Z also sported TONS of 240Z's swapped with big and small block chevy motors. Not sure if anyone noticed my other WIP thread (at least no one has responded yet) i'm doing a 79 camaro with a custom twin turbo ford racing 427 motor. to my surpise, the beast fit into my little sub-compact sports car. the wieght of the engine is literally more than that of the car (the models, not the 1:1) but imagine an ~1000-1200 HP V8 (IMAGINE THE TORQUE!!) in a car this light! its opening up possibilities though, as i have one more 427 engine and dozens of pre-built turbos.... anyhow, its not staying like this... its just for laughs/reaction.

Fujimi (yes, I know...sad.. ) 180SX, 2 litre turbo....wheels and tyres are ordered.... I'm lovin' that RB powered Z too.....that's gonna be a beast... cheers Greg

stump Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Ok, kool bananas..... Aye, October should be ample time.....one can only try..... My ride......will be without major sponsor logos...it will be, as driven.......from home. I'm really wishing I had taken the time to track down a Tamiya version....the chassis on this is heartless, but I'll make it work.... The body has been started, but only added a front spoiler......That would fall into the "less than 10% started" category..? Mocked up checking ride height, not the wheels it will be getting either.... Motovation......SR20DET, resin motor from friends down here in Aus. The kool "crate" it gets delivered in....good for storage after wards..... Thanks for allowing my late entry....This should be fun..... cheers Greg
moonlite5hadow Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 hurry up with that SR20! i've been wanting one to put into another 240Z, but have been warry about ordering one as it would be my first experience with resin.

Mmmmm, Maybe I should build something Faster? thanks i am really pleased with the way the vents came out all those hours of sanding and puttying paid off well th paint is very glossy allready, im hoping it will get even better after clear coating it and the wing is a aftermarket that came with the revell ford focus SVT tuner kit all i needed to do is sand the bottom so it would sit flush davezinn said: the RSX looks over the top! any pics of the chassis and how you've done the AWD system? this is supposed to be mid or rear engined too right? Dave its pretty simple dave i cut a section out of the chassis and removed the gas tank i also took out everything pertaining to a rear seat this will give me plenty of room to install a VTEC engine i took from a honda civic SI it is placed directly over the rear axle so ill use that engine to power the rear wheels and the stock, front engine to power the front wheels this also forces me to build a fuel cell which will come in handy to hide the screw that hold the body on the chassis (normally this is hid by a peice of trim i removed to install the engine)
sigmaman Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 That Shelby is coming along nicely. The wing on the Honda is awesome!
remingtonbox Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Scratch my Trueno off the list. I am going to build Samuel Hubinette's Mopar Challenger instead. I am going to the city this weekend to get the kit Should be one heck of a challenge.

Sam is my #2 favorite non-japanese drifter, only after Rhys Millen (Rhys is only first cause he's supposedly using Hyundai's Genesis Coupe soon, and i am a loyal hyundai fan, and grabbing a 2.0T Coupe R-Spec soon). Sam's Challenger will be one hell of a car to duplicate! the colors are AWESOME! i CANNOT wait to see some in progress pics! oh, and diymirage, soon you'll have a turbo for each engine of that thing! (it is a twin engine, right?) Edited June 12, 2009 by moonlite5hadow

(it is a twin engine, right?) i wouldnt mind have a genesis myself i used to have a tiburon it was an 03 2.o that i did the facelift bumperswap on, so it had the 05 bumper on it also had a header, custom exhaust and intake pretty nice litte car (totat chich magnet) till i hit a patch of ice with it and then a Vdub golf that was too bad at any rate, the type-S is indeed a twin engine so the two turbos will be greatly appreciated

The graphics are going to be a HUGE undertaking, and the engine is far from stock...

diymirage Posted June 12, 2009 Author Posted June 12, 2009 vizio93 said: OUCH that looks nasty, did you ever get it fixed ? not really have a look at that motormount there was some real structural damage so the insurance company called it totalled funny thing, the only "body panels" that were busted were the front bumper and the hood but i guess the entire cradle was junked not at all like my cougar, when i totalled that one the only body panels that were NOT damaged were the roof and the rear hatch whats even funyer, niether one of those cars had the airbags deployed and the tibby took a head on hit, you would expect it on that one it did get me thinking though, after seeing the damage that little golf did to my tibby.... ...i decided to buy my a volkswage passat
moonlite5hadow Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 wow, i figured the bag on the tibby should have deployed, that looks nasty. i had an 05 elantra gt hatch right out of high school. i was rear ended at about 60mph (i was doing about 5, making a right turn in a 35 zone) and my airbag went off. weird. good thing you didnt get the V6. i heard that to get to the cylinder bank facing the firewall required a motor pull, or partial motor pull, just to change spark plugs!
