Mike601 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Can anyone tell me if it was required to have a license plate in the front as well as the back in 1970? Thanks, Mike
Danno Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Can anyone tell me if it was required to have a license plate in the front as well as the back in 1970? Thanks, Mike Yes. Colorado has been a 'two-plate' state since at least the 50's.

lordairgtar Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I see someone answered already. But herte is a link to plate design from Colorado. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...ficial%26sa%3DG
mr moto Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 If you make your own decals and like to use authentic plates this site is a gold mine! http://www.plateshack.com/ They have images of plates from all the states as well Canada, Mexico and Australia going back many years. There's no info on who uses two plates and who doesn't, unfortunately.
oldcars Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 The answer is yes. I don't remember when it started but back then ( if I am right) we didn't have tabs yet, so every year we flipped colors. One year we would be green mountains with white sky and then the next year we would have white mountains and green sky. If you are making plates you can go with either color combination. Hope this helps you. Richard
