Coyote_6 Posted Monday at 01:20 AM Posted Monday at 01:20 AM (edited) A battle royale? With who?? Jungle Jim? Connie Kalitta? Shirley Muldowney?? Nah, just a constant battle with that durn MPC Mustang Funny Car kit! (MPC930/12) Front axle - seemed a bit wide, narrowed it a quarter inch maybe. Panel with hinge pins for opening the body - seemed to close to the rears so installed it opposite of the instructions. Aluminum firewall panels inside body - thinned and cut back the blower covering, ground off anything below the top of the horizontal part, and extended the drivers compartment opening aft maybe 1/8 inch. Chassis - moved front axle aft maybe 1/8 inch. Continually messed with engine location after removing the mounting locators. And on and on. You get the idea. This one fought me every step. Hopefully the stance and proportions look about right after all that cutting and gluing. 🤣 Here ya go... (Slixx decal sheet BMM6-7065) I am happy with it, but what a fight! I probably made it harder than it had to be? Anyway, thanks for looking, and sorry for so many pics. There's just so much to show with funny cars. Steve Edited Monday at 01:43 AM by Coyote_6 5 1

Dragline Posted Monday at 02:59 PM Posted Monday at 02:59 PM Brilliant! I have the flame decal set for that kit. It's in the queue. 1
Wild Child Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Steve, good looking car. As a vintage Funny Car-aholic (most of my posts), my all time favorite Fords have always been this Mustang and the '69 Gas Rhonda car. Cool outside pics too. 1
Coyote_6 Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago (edited) @Wild Child Thanks! I really enjoyed the dragster evolution you just did. Motorsports had an attainable magic back in the 60s and 70s that just seems missing in motorsports today. Love your work! (For example, I bought a '67 Camaro in 1985 for about what I spent on this model/paint/decals 🤣 - obviously that Camaro is long gone 😭) Edited 19 hours ago by Coyote_6
TonyK Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago A very nice clean build after all that work. It's an MPC kit and I find they are a pain so I get what you're saying about your struggles. 1
6bblbird Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Nice job on the car! Photos are also very well done.
