FoMoCo66 Posted July 2 Posted July 2 I just started this car this week after playing around with wheels and tires. The wheels are from revells 64 Thunderbolt and I think they look really tough on this car with the white wall pie crust slicks. Im also going to go with a gold paint job with white accents. Oh and its got to have a tuck n roll interior. My inspiration was this car that I saw at the 2024 goodguys heartland nationals, I really like the attitude and stance of this car. Here's the moch-up of the car, had to hog out the rear slicks to fit the wheels, quick work with a dremmel. This kit also has a molded in exhaust, I forgot to take a before picture. Here's the finished result. Thanks for looking Elliot 10
johnyrotten Posted July 2 Posted July 2 It's sitting right. 👍👍. I haven't been to a Goodguy's show in years, they stopped the Rhinebeck NY show a while ago. 2

Thanks, I usually go to the heartland nationals every year, couldn't go this year because I moved across town. 1

FoMoCo66 Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 (edited) Next update! I got quite a few things done this week. Sence this car is a mild custom I had to shave all the emblems, the Belair emblems on the side, the chevy emblems on the hood and trunk, and the top of the hood are now all flat. After shaving everything, I primered the car, sanded again, then put the final layer of primer on. I also got the engine completed, I went with the fuel injection and had to shortened the stacks to fit under the hood. Also got the battery wired up. The firewall had a nasty gap on it so I had to fill that in with 3m spot putty, probably needs another round of filling and sanding. The chassis is also in primer, couple stars from the molded in exhaust but you can barely tell. Also had to add a transmission brace because there oddly wasnt one. Lastly, I put some testors flat steel on the wheels to replicate the magnesium wheels. Thanks for looking! Elliot Edited July 4 by FoMoCo66 6

Looks good but, just an FYI, don't know if it matters to you but your headlight lenses are on their sides. The close together lines supposed to go up and down, the wider apart ones go across.

FoMoCo66 Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago Got the interior finished up. Pretty happy with the tuck and roll! Sadly I did make a oopsie . Got my finger in the way while the paint was still drying and I didnt really feel like repainting. So... I've seen plenty of other guys on here that print scale coppies of HOT ROD or MOTORTREND magazine covers. I went over to my computer to do some interweb searching and found that hot rod magazines made a digital copy of every single magazine cover. I ended up finding all the ones from the 60s and sizing them up on a doc (there were 120 of them 😬). Anyway, printed them out and glued them down, now you can't even tell. Thanks for looking, and as always comments are very much appreciated. Elliot 1
