gtx6970 Posted Friday at 09:51 PM Posted Friday at 09:51 PM (edited) More of a test it and see if they still work post than anything . I think these decals are at least 15 years old??? But its next in line So decided to find out if they were any good . And I can fortunately say,,,,So far, So good Im a little surprised these decals actually fit this body. ( so far ) I believe they were originally designed for the old Good Stuff resin body kits The paint layed down so nice, Its almost a shame to cover most of it up with decals Simple 3 light coats tamiya Bright red with 3 coats Tamiya clear Edit, I might push this one to the ft of the line While I wait for paint for the Superbird build Edited yesterday at 05:20 PM by gtx6970 6
gtx6970 Posted yesterday at 02:28 PM Author Posted yesterday at 02:28 PM (edited) The paint AND decals went so well. I've decided to just keep moving along on this one, while I wait for paint for the Superbird kit. Decals went on without issue, except they were a little long overall. So, I had to trim them slightly right at the door seam to make them fit this body Chassis is about done. Engine is ready and, in the chassis, ( accs will get attached once its glued in place for the final time) Tires and wheels are done Interior is about done Pretty much box stock with exception I swapped the auto trans version of the engine from the Plymouth kit to more accurately represent Bud Faubel's original car. ** I should note. The original car had the typical Gold color interior. The current car ( no idea how much , if any of it is the original) But it has a red interior, which is obviously incorrect. magicmustang Posted yesterday at 04:22 PM Posted yesterday at 04:22 PM Great work, Bill. Bud's last name is Faubel not Faubles. Your decal on the door is correct. 1

Faubel's is correct to denote ownership, notice the apostrophe before the s. Some nice-looking decal and paint work. Edited yesterday at 07:01 PM by TarheelRick

gtx6970 Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago Got a lot done today. Chassis is in for the final time. And it sitting on its own 4 wheels. With any luck , I'll have it done tomorrow, maybe Wednesday I'll go on record, I was extremely skeptical when these kits first came out. But I REALLY like how easy they go together, Although getting the side glass in , is a bit tedious. 1
Dragline Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago How beautiful is that? Very nice work on a great car.
gtx6970 Posted 19 minutes ago Author Posted 19 minutes ago DONE. Start to finish in under 2 weeks. Which i think might be a record for me. Ain't it great to be retired. And I am super happy with how well it turned out.
