pulln4dejr Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Built this one box stock for a friend. Added sheet plastic to some of the sink marks on the chassis, added a vintage set of “Cherry Run” Burger King decals, a couple of coats of Future Clear Floor Polish and called it done. For the sheet plastic for the “sink marks” I was a mechanic for 45 years and had saved some of those plastic dealer tags which make great “free” sheet plastic! For the window net I took a small pan of water and got it to a boil on the stove, held it in the center with a pair of long needle nose pliers. As the plastic became pliable I bent the net over enough so that I could push it down on the bottom of the pan with the pliers until it would drape over the window opening. 6 1
satterwhite78 Posted July 22 Posted July 22 That's a "Whopper" of a Beauty! 70's Nascar is a moment of time of it's own. Super nice build
pulln4dejr Posted July 22 Author Posted July 22 Yeah, nothing like watching an old YouTube video and hearing what a real NASCAR used to sound like! I grew up watching Lennie run Late Models at Southside Speedway not too far from my house! 1
Volzfan59 Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Looks really good to me. I always pulled for Lennie when he was driving.
pulln4dejr Posted yesterday at 04:37 AM Author Posted yesterday at 04:37 AM Thanks guys! I grew up watching Lennie, Ray Hendricks, Sonny Hutchins, Jimmy Hensley race at the little “bull ring” that Denny Hamlin got his start, Southside Speedway.
