Monty Posted Thursday at 12:13 AM Posted Thursday at 12:13 AM I've seen and heard a lot of good things about MCW enamels and I wanted to see if they have a couple paint colors I'd like to use in the future, but I can't seem to find a search bar on their site, and I don't want to scroll through each auto mfr's listings. Did I miss something obvious? TIA for all helpful replies.
bh1701 Posted Thursday at 12:29 AM Posted Thursday at 12:29 AM On their Home Page, in the blue bar at the top, there is a magnifying glass that you can click on to open the search window. It appears just to the right of their phone number. This is pretty common on a lot of websites, so be looking for them! Bart

On the far left of the top of the page there's a "hamburger" with no helpful options for this search. In the middle, I see their phone number, and to the far right, a shopping cart. I tried to find anything "hidden" by slowly running the cursor over the whole upper top, but nothing. A friend tried to help me with this last Tuesday using his phone, and he came up empty as well.
stavanzer Posted Thursday at 01:41 AM Posted Thursday at 01:41 AM I found this. https://mcwfinishes.com/shop NOt sure what you need.
Monty Posted Thursday at 02:30 AM Author Posted Thursday at 02:30 AM No idea what's going on. I tried all the options in the "hamburger" to see if I could get the screen options you guys are posting, but no luck.
peteski Posted Thursday at 03:11 AM Posted Thursday at 03:11 AM You're using a PC. Good. Well, next question is: what Browser are you using? In using Windows 7 and Firefox and the MCW site looks exactly like DJ Mar's. I just went to the main page: https://mcwfinishes.com/ No hamburgers anywhere. I though hamburgers were usually seen in smart phones' browsers. Can you take a screen capture and post it here? I'm curious about what you are seeing.
bh1701 Posted Thursday at 04:15 AM Posted Thursday at 04:15 AM Windows 11 and Chrome look like this. It will be interesting to see what Monty's screen looks like! Bart

Bart Currently at work but the PC runs Win10 and Chrome. The phone we tried the other day was an Android (Samsung). I just tried it on my iPhone and it looks just like on my PC. I tried to do a screen print to show you guys (had to Google how) but I can’t save the image. I’ll try that again later.
bh1701 Posted Thursday at 07:55 PM Posted Thursday at 07:55 PM Monty, Here's what I get when using my iPhone and Safari. These screenshots show how I get to the Search function on the site. I am guessing that the 3 Horizontal lines on the left side of the screen is the 'hamburger' you referred to. Be sure you have the phone in "portrait" position (narrow side is up) to be able to see the whole menu that appears. If you are holding your phone in "landscape" position (wide side is up) , then you won't see the whole menu and would need to use your finger on the phone to scroll down on the menu. Bart
Monty Posted yesterday at 01:00 AM Author Posted yesterday at 01:00 AM Tada! That actually worked, but it leads to another mystery. The main reason I was trying so hard to access MCW's listings was because my Google search for MCW Burple enamel only came up with one listing: a Pennsylvania hobby store that had carried it at one time (currently out) under MCW P/N 2158E. In MCW's nomenclature, E means it's an enamel. I then emailed MCW directly asking if 2158E was still a valid item and received a brief answer the next day assuring me that it was. Tonight, I tried 2158E in the search line but received a message saying there were no matches for it. I then tried "Burple" and received two matches: 2158 & 2160, both lacquers, which I'm not interested in using. If nothing else, thanks for helping me find the search protocol. And if you have any links to enamel "Burple" paint, please let me know.
peteski Posted yesterday at 01:12 AM Posted yesterday at 01:12 AM Well, I'm glad that you were able to find the way to search the MCW site. But I'm confused. If you already exchanged emails with MCW and they informed you that 2158E is available, why not just ask them how to order it since it appears not to be showing on their website.

They responded yesterday, well before I was shown how to access their search mechanism. I will be following up since they definitely offer it in lacquer.
