Glynn Posted August 4 Posted August 4 What people think on printing old kits at mo have two kenworth k100 a k100 aerodyne a should be getting the kenworth wrecker new.a I’m thinking off printing new ones as can’t get them a revell won’t re do them.a I don’t think that much of the new kits.
iamsuperdan Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Are you asking about 3d printing kits that the model companies no longer make? If so, that's something I think just about everyone here supports.

Glynn Posted August 5 Author Posted August 5 (edited) Yes printing old kits that no longer available I have revell k100 vit Australia,k100 aerodyne and just bought a k100 heavy hauler with 8x6 drive and the one that everyone wants the Peter built wrecker.last two are really rare. Force Posted August 6 Posted August 6 (edited) That will be quite a chore. First you have to have a 3D scanner and a 3D printer, scan the parts from a kit and do print files from the scans, and then print them out, the Revell Peterbilt Can-Do/Will-Do wrecker has about 650 individual parts and the Revell Kenworth K100 kits somewhere around 300-350, so it's time consuming and most likely expensive to do a complete 3D printed kit of these. Revell still have the tooling for these kits so they will most likely come out again sometime. Edited August 6 by Force
stitchdup Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Your probably better just getting the kits. Buying an aftermarket printed copy of a kit wont save you any money and would likely cost even more. a typical 3d printed kit seems to be almost 3 times the cost of a plastic kit and with the number of parts a truck might be even more costly. But 3d has given us stuff the kit makers have never done and upgrades for the kits that are available. 1
