Will the ground effects from the GT work on the hatch? I don't see why they wouldn't....... That could be an eventual thing if you ever have it painted!

How streetable will this car be? The thing with a manual, you have more leeway as to what cam you can run..........

Or you could do a 2 tone, the lower half with ground effect one color (also fix your bad bumper paint). And the rest factory color. Like this.silver-codes-yj-zh-1990-1993_9e002ce1.jpg.e87820c5b1c42311e73f072fc4537142.jpg

She's cleaned up very well, and nice score on the donor car. If you play your cards right, you can recoup a bunch of money parting out the gt when you're done with it. Make sure you take EVERYTHING you need for the swap.

Thanks! Yeah I'm planning on swapping pretty much the whole interior into the hatchback as well as the 5.0 and 5-speed. So by the time I'm done with it, you probably won' even be able to tell it was a Foxbody.

The GT bodykit will work on the hatchback, but I'm planning on eventually putting a Saleen bodykit on it so I'll probably sell the GT kit.

Ohh by the time I have this the way I want it; this thing is gonna be a street legal racecar for the most part.

But for now, I'm gonna put an E303 cam in it with 2 chamber flow masters and an H pipe, old school.

I'm also going to do other things to it slowly like do a smog pump delete, bigger injectors, fuel pump, Trick Flow upper intake, etc...

For now my plan is to make it a good driver that looks and sounds good, but while I'm driving it and enjoying it; I'm gonna be building a 347 or a 351 bored to a 440 on the side to drop in it. 😎

Cleaned up nicely!

Although....I think I'd keep the convertible and restore/build that!

Man I totally would but being 17 my insurance would be CRAZY expensive since it's a convertible.

The convertible is the heaviest body style, too, at least that's what I've always heard! I like what you have planned for this car!  B)

Yeah the door sticker on the convertible says that it weighs 4200 pounds, where the LX only weighs 2500!!

Does anyone know if the Fox chassis Mustangs and Thunderbirds have the same width rear end?

According to Google, there's an inch and a half difference.  58 vs 59.50. If it bolts in, and nothing hits, you could make up the difference with wheel offset.

Ah dude I wish I lived in North Carolina, I would definitely get that!!

At least now you know that it's something to consider, using a turbocoupe rear end.......

I spent a 1-1/2 years back around 2012 rebuilding her just in time for the Mustang's 50th year annv.

Looked like this after my rebuild- photo from the show.....

Then the lady messed her up....."I didn't see you"...! Really!?

Alright folks I got another update for ya'll:

So I attempted last weekend to take the seats out of the car, but when I did; about a dozen or so spiders started coming out of EVERY orface of the car, so instead I threw 2 bug bombs (1 in each seat) in the car and left it for a week...

But Yesterday, I went back to try again, (this time I brought a friend) and we completely gutted it: front and rear seats, console, carpet, kick panels. You name it, we pulled it. Unfortunately we couldn't get the dash, door panels, and sail panels out. We had to get back to the house in time for supper, so next weekend the goal is to hopefully finish.

Oh and the best part of the whole thing was that we got the hatch to open! It has refused to budge every time I have attempted to open it. But this time it actually opened when I turned the key.

Bad part is that the hatch is RUSTED OUT, I'm definitely gonna need a new one. But if that's the only rust I find in the car then I'm happy.

Here's the pics...

This is right after the hatch popped open.

The rust is so bad

Seats out

The floors look wayyy better than I anticipated

All the rust you see is surface, my buddy and I were kicking the floors to make sure it wasn't worse then we thought.

Final picture...

We forgot a Shop Vac so when we go back this coming up weekend we're gonna vacuum it out.

But on the bright side the rats didn't eat up the wiring under the carpet. (Yippee)

Thanks for looking!! More updates coming soon...

Spiders?! Nope. I would have burned it to the ground right then and there!

Seriously though, I hate spiders. I would have kept on disassembling that interior. All the side panels and the headliner...out. And at that point, would probably pull the dash too. Might as well clean it all and start fresh!

I'm surprised your hatch struts still worked!

Dude I have had friends that have been bit by both Brown Recluse and Black Widows. When I saw them crawling around the first time, I said "Ah heck no," and threw the bug grenades in it.

It seemed to work 'cuz my buddy and I saw nothing but dead spiders.

We're going back to finish vacuuming it out, pull the dash, sail panels, and possibly door panels. All that stuff is going to be transferred from the convertible so all I really need to save is the rear seats (for now) and the sail panels.

What a cool project. Looks like raccoons were living under the rear seat. Make sure to hit that with a STRONG disinfectant after you get it vacuumed/scooped out.

Yeah you should have seen the massive rats nest that was in the spare tire, it was HUGE.
