The way I see it from this side of the screen is that the grille is a bit low and somewhat pointy forward in the center, the fenders look more rounded down on the sides of the hood and the grille seems to follow the fenders closely on the prototype pic. The fenders themselves seem to be fine.

Just comparing the model to the real truck it looks like the grill could be raised just a tad.  Match the height to the hood by adjusting the edges of the hood so it is squared off to meet the grill.  Then reshape the top of the fenders accordingly.  I think you also have to take out the sculpture line that goes around the fender opening.  So don't put it away yet!  It's getting there.

Thanks Jose, I'm working on it.

Thanks Charles, I've been working on it. It's not in a box, the garbage or smashed against the wall. YET🤨

I've been cutting, sanding & figuring things out. I really needed to reconnect the fenders so I built a radiator support. I got rid of the fender flares and reworked the bottom of the grill. It's getting a little better.

It really looks like a corn binder now.

An AMC V8 out of a Bobby Allison Matador or a Jeep J10 would be appropriate since I think IH used 401s in Travelalls

Thanks! I'm still unsure about an engine.

I'd put a wild flathead in it. Pretty trippy, huh?  Don't listen to the lunatics (myself included 🥴)

I seriously considered just that, because 53 was the last year of the Ford Flathead v8 and I have plenty of them. More thought on that when the bodywork looks better. My brain can't handle more than 1 thing at a time.🥴🤪

I was just half kidding about the flathead, Mark, but it sorta makes sense. It's an interesting and unusual subject. The photos you take will help you with the body work. Zoom in to find the areas that need your attention.
