Mark C. Posted Friday at 04:19 PM Posted Friday at 04:19 PM Thatās amazing. Ā When they were new, my dad worked for a Pontiac/Buick dealership (in Canada), and he had one of the street replicas as a demonstrator for the whole summer. Ā Being a car nut I was thrilled with it. Ā As a side note, everybody who saw the car called it the āFree Spiritā, not the Indy pace car replicaā¦

I remember seeing one in the showroom of the local Buick dealer back then when my grandfather had to go there for a part for his '68 Electra 225 Limited. My cousin Ron had one of the grey '76s in the mid 80s. I got to drive it on a 120 mile trip one night. Great car. The same Frederictom Pontiac/Buick dealer had 2 of the mid-'80s slant back Grand Prixs in at the same time, side by side one day wehn I was there.Ā MacDonald Pontiac/Buick, IIRC. but it's been decades since they closed.

Well, yeah, it said āFree Spiritā on the side of it, but IIRC that was the slogan that Buick was using at the time. Ā Young aspiring gearheads like myself knew that it was a pace car replica and would tend to refer to it as that. Ā I used to spend a little time at the dealership back in the day, when my Dad would take me there, so I wouldnāt call myself unfamiliar with Buick stuff from the era⦠though I was admittedly more of a Pontiac fan at the time.

Ā I hate it actually. So⦠Iām sure youāre right, Steve. Ā I concede.

Mark C. Posted Saturday at 04:19 PM Posted Saturday at 04:19 PM That looks really really great! Do you still sell your castings?
