James2 Posted Saturday at 04:33 PM Posted Saturday at 04:33 PM (edited) I’ve been wanting to build a Tom Daniel’s show rod but without the expensive purchase. Soooo, I’ll build my own show rod! Z’d frame (blocks will be shaped), chopped pickup bed and roof, crazy wheel/tire combo and a double blower Olds engine. Should be easy, right? Edited Saturday at 06:55 PM by James2 7
bill-e-boy Posted Saturday at 10:54 PM Posted Saturday at 10:54 PM If you have one use the chassis with the suicide front end from the AMT 23 T roadster or tall coupe - the chopped coupe, fruit wagon etc. The T is easy to Z I have added a Z to the back of a 29 Chassis I will put up a pix of the AMT T chassis when I find it 2
bill-e-boy Posted Saturday at 11:00 PM Posted Saturday at 11:00 PM I like your concept too Found the pix I was looking for 1
FoMoCo66 Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM (edited) Hell Yeah! I agree with bill-e-boy, a suicide front suspension would look more at home on a show rod, pretty much all of them have them (straight axle ones at least). Edited yesterday at 12:09 AM by FoMoCo66
James2 Posted 21 hours ago Author Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Instead of a perched support, I’m doing a variation of this elliptical front suspension and drop axle. Edited 21 hours ago by James2 3
FoMoCo66 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I stand corrected, that's going to be way cooler and way wilder!
James2 Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago Stance is now set, axle brackets to follow. I should mock up the dragster axle shouldn’t I? 1
