Jon Haigwood Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Any place to find 1/8th scale fan belts ? None of my kits have then included.
64SS350 Posted September 22 Posted September 22 What if you were to go to like Hobby Lobby or ...?? and find some leather strips or sheet and cut to width. I know they vary on thickness and texture, even a vinyl product maybe. 1
Beans Posted September 23 Posted September 23 (edited) I have used rubber hair ties that my daughter tends to leave all over the house. Don't know if they are the right scale for 1/8 but might work. They are like thin flat rubber bands. https://www.amazon.com/Hoyols-Elastic-Rubber-Ponytail-Polyband/dp/B07JYFKR1G?th=1 Edited September 23 by Beans 1
Russell C Posted September 24 Posted September 24 (edited) I tear apart dead electronic devices before I toss them out, to see what can be repurposed inside 'em as model car parts. I forget what kind of ink jet printer / pen plotter this particular one came out of, it's too big to be a toothed belt for 24th / 25th scale dragsters and likely too small for 1/8th scale. But any kind of printer that has a moving printer head may have real rubber toothed belts or smooth v-groove ones that could be the right size. Companies probably sell replacement belts for such printers, too. Edited September 24 by Russell C 3
