R. Thorne Posted Sunday at 04:33 AM Author Posted Sunday at 04:33 AM One hour of foiling and that part is over. 2
Old Buckaroo Posted Sunday at 04:35 PM Posted Sunday at 04:35 PM I really like this project. The foiling looks great on the new paint. Ive got the same body stashed away - but haven't decided who to build it after.
Andrew McD Posted Tuesday at 11:50 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:50 AM I have used Mr. Surfacer 1000 and 1500 as a primer under Tamiya lacquers and acrylics with no compatibility issues. In fact I find the 1500 applied with an air brush lays down beautifully smooth. Perhaps it's the pigment size or a different chemistry in the Mr. Surfacer 500? I think the lower number Mr. Surfacer, such as 400 and 500 are intended as "fillers" for seams and surface imperfections and then need an additional coat of a finer grade primer before the color coat.
R. Thorne Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Thanks for your input, guys. Finally got some free time to get some vinyl letters on.
