Mike F. Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Started on this one recently. Going with camel yellow with dark green interior. Engine nearly done. Nice kit. Only complaint is no direction on engine option for tri-carbs. 6
meechum68 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Funny you post this... I have this on my bench now. I am gonna enjoy seeing your take on this!
Mike F. Posted October 9 Author Posted October 9 I'm rethinking my color scheme. I like the yellow, but not the green interior. Maybe a dark brown would be better. comments or suggestions, good or bad, are welcome. 3

meechum68 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Tbh, I think a black or dark grey would work nicely and use the yellow to accent the seats and dash bits and bobs. The green is ... not the right one for that yellow. White with that green would be great. 3 1
Mike F. Posted October 11 Author Posted October 11 So, I decided to forego the green and do a brown and tan with silver highlights. Considering how much I shake, the brushwork did not come out too bad. 8

Mike F. Posted October 18 Author Posted October 18 So, The interior is done. Glad I switched colors. Much better. 3
Mike F. Posted October 20 Author Posted October 20 I added the seat decals that came with the kit. Was not going to at first, but decided to. Has a strange shadowing effect that I thought was glue residue at first, but they are fairly regular, so I guess was intended. 3
Kanada Kustoms Posted October 21 Posted October 21 (edited) Fantastic job on the interior... Nice work! Edited October 21 by Kanada Kustoms
Mike F. Posted October 21 Author Posted October 21 Yes and surprisingly goes with my interior color scheme.
espo Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Like the look that the kit's decals have. Were they clear with a pattern on them or did they have a color built into the decals?
Mike F. Posted October 21 Author Posted October 21 They were clear with the dot pattern, but shading was not evident until I put them on. 1
Mike F. Posted November 4 Author Posted November 4 A little more progress If you are building this kit, beware of the sequence of directions. Fo example, put the muffler pipes on before putting on the frame. I did not and had difficulty installing the pipes beneath the frame. Also, the wheels that use the beauty rings and moons do not work. So I went with the cragerlike custom wheels. 4
Mike F. Posted Thursday at 08:34 PM Author Posted Thursday at 08:34 PM After much consternation, a whole lot of shaking and a little swearing, I foiled the window chrome trim.
Mike F. Posted Thursday at 08:40 PM Author Posted Thursday at 08:40 PM (edited) After much consternation, a whole lot of shaking and a little swearing, I foiled the window chrome trim. As you can see below, the windshield on this kit does not fit quite right, but leaving as-is because I am not adept at reshaping the plastic. Edited Thursday at 08:43 PM by Mike F. 1
Mike F. Posted Thursday at 08:56 PM Author Posted Thursday at 08:56 PM One of the door handles mysteriously disappeared from my workbench overnight. I suspect the cat 🐈 I fabricated one from the triple carb gas line assembly that Was not used. Looks ok, I guess.
