Kutnplastik Posted Friday at 04:13 AM Posted Friday at 04:13 AM Looking for a source of various sizes of chrome bullets for grills, bumpers, etc. I thought that I might find something at a craft store, to no avail. Perhaps a modeler out there has a tip to making these?
Bugatti Fan Posted Friday at 07:27 AM Posted Friday at 07:27 AM An idea for the 3D printing guys perhaps ?
johnyrotten Posted Friday at 10:36 AM Posted Friday at 10:36 AM You could try turning some styrene rod on a lathe,or dremel. I've made many small, round parts on my dremel (ignition coils, steering columns) and have seen members here make brake and headlight lenses. Left over sprue has those small nubs everywhere, those are halfway to the shape your looking for, and in different diameters. Etsy has small bullet shaped charms (i did a 2 second search) 1
mcs1056 Posted Friday at 03:08 PM Posted Friday at 03:08 PM This is suggested with VERY little thought (how I do my best work). Make one stick (wood, styrene, stirrer from my drink) the profile of the bullet(s) you want. Poke that into Play-Doh™ several times. Drip in some epoxy & let cure. Pull them out, stick them to a popsicle stick and give 'em a spray. 3
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted Friday at 07:55 PM Posted Friday at 07:55 PM (edited) There's a set on ebay listed as: 🌟"Dagmars" Bumper Bullets 1953 Ford F100 1:25 Scl 1000s Model Car Parts 4 Sale. The AMT 1949 Mercury has a custom grill bar as well. Edited Friday at 07:59 PM by Perspect Scale Modelworks

LDO Posted yesterday at 12:32 AM Posted yesterday at 12:32 AM I think a good source would be external fuel tanks from military aircraft. Just cut off the tip and use that. Some military and civilian aircraft had “tip tanks” at the wing tips. Top to bottom bottom: Aero 1D tanks used on many U.S. aircraft from the 1960s onward Unknown fuel tanks on Japanese F-4 Phantom 165 gallon tank (I believe) on WWII P-38 Lightning. It also carried a 315 gallon tank. Both had a raised seam that would need to be removed. Lear Jet. I don’t think anyone would part with these unless the model was damaged or bought for parts, but they are out there. I have lots of planes in the stash. If you want, I could look for tanks that might work.
Russell C Posted yesterday at 03:30 AM Posted yesterday at 03:30 AM (edited) Cone shaped metal studs for leatherwork? https://www.etsy.com/listing/629379849/silver-uk77-cone-studs-bulk-discounts Electronics for dome-shape really durable chrome pieces / sidewalk trash for cone shapes? The shapes on top (from my eclectic non-automotive plastic parts collection) are what the push buttons out of a junk DVD player look like when the machine is disassembled. I found the busted kid's cheap plastic bracelet on a sidewalk somewhere. Looks like the sort of thing a quarter vending machine of little toys and trinkets might stock.
