Thought I'd come and play with the big boys. My plan is stock with a little detail and I figured a tractor would be an appropriate load. Its not going to be shiny but it wont be worn out either

This is going to be interesting. I have seen this kit but I've never heard of EMHAR. Looking forward to seeing it come together.

This chassis had long been replaced by my day but that wooden dropside type body was still a standard. You'd hear them rattling and banging, especially when they were empty. They were so versatile. When drivers knew how to rope and sheet a load.

I assembled the engine this afternoon. It all went together pretty well and the couple of parts that were warped turned out to hide the warp when it went together. So far the kit feels like an icm/italeri cross in how it goes together. Its also the first time i've sucessfully drilled a distributor

a bit more progress. for such a modern kit i'm surprised how much clean up is needed. i might have got a bad kit but every part has been slightly out of line and required a lot of scraping. I built the similar era opel blitz and i dont recall it needing much done. Still, it hasn't put me off emhar and i just got the towtruck version. apart from the extra clean up its going together well but i could do with three hands in places. I've also made a start on the tractor but i'm not far enough along with it to show much. Its been a lot of tiny parts, like the icm model a has but it seems a little less daunting than the miniart road tractor which i've put back in the box many times, lol.

Very interesting build. I had a couple kits of these, but they may be gone forever.

Always liked the looks, but really wished somebody had kitted the old 'parrot nose' Dodges in this scale too.

I got the chassis mostly painted the other day. Unfortunatelly 2 steps later there were a couple of parts more to add which i missed seeing when i checked the instructions. I've also got the interior together and it pretty much snapped together and most parts could have been done without glue. The cab is also together after needing some heavy mold lines removed and i sanded around the doors before fitting them but could have done a little more as i still had to rescribe them after gluing them on. I'm also part way through assembling the bed but i found i didn't trim the sprue nubs back enough so there are small gaps along the edge. I only have a couple of small parts left to add to the interior part and it will be ready to spray but i think i'll be brushing the bed as i think it will look more correct for the build and possibly easier to get the aged look on the bed.
