oldcarfan Posted Monday at 12:56 AM Posted Monday at 12:56 AM I have part of a can of Model Masters Plum Crazy but I'm not sure if it's enough for a project. I noticed this at HL yesterday and it looks like the same color. Could it be the same paint in a new can? I'll probably buy one to try it out, but I'm curious. On that subject are there any other of the Model Masters paints available under a different name?
Mattblack Posted Monday at 07:32 AM Posted Monday at 07:32 AM Assuming the paints are compatible, why not just use the part can for the last couple of coats?
karbuildr Posted Monday at 09:33 PM Posted Monday at 09:33 PM The one you're showing the photo of, is a lacquer color called Purple Licious. It's completely different than Plum Crazy. Their Plum Crazy lacquer was discontinued.
oldcarfan Posted Thursday at 12:33 AM Author Posted Thursday at 12:33 AM Sometimes the same color is reissued with a different name and I was kind of hoping this would be the case here. Thanks for the info.
bobss396 Posted Thursday at 12:13 PM Posted Thursday at 12:13 PM I found the real Plum Crazy in the Mopar touch up line that looks great.
pack rat Posted Thursday at 02:20 PM Posted Thursday at 02:20 PM Apologies for the poor lighting, but here are the Model Master Plum Crazy and Purplicious side by side. The Purplicious is more blue-ish and has that heavy flake the Extreme lacquers are known for.
