Noticed AMT’s releasing the ‘57 Ford soon

Excited for that as I was hoping to get one but older kits were hard to find. Can’t order one until December 31st but I was just wondering if anyone knows if the kit still comes with the ‘57 Meteor grille which I’m pretty sure was thrown in as a custom piece in previous kits.

I'm sure it will have the Meteor grille as all the issues of the kit I've ever seen have it.

But, it's not a complete grille. It's missing the ends that wrap around the sides of the fenders, never had them.

That part I knew; no problem though as I'm sure I could do something up if I want to make a stock '57 Meteor.  I did a '61 Meteor conversion where I had to fabricate the grille and tail panel out of existing custom pieces from other kits (customizing the custom parts) but actually having the molded Meteor grille come with the '57 is a big step in the right direction.

I didn't know that it was missing a bit on the grill. I should of done my due diligence on that.  But I am happy to see it coming back. I really enjoyed this kit. Will have to get a couple more for my stash.

Yea, the grille wraps right around to the wheel opening but you could take a second grille, cut it up and add that part.

Thank you Steve! I may have an extra grill on the way from a buddy. So I can do some mockup in the near future.

This kit has been released and re-released at least a dozen times since 1962 and I believe that the optional Meteor grille has been in all of them. So there are many floating around out there…
