RancheroSteve Posted yesterday at 06:52 PM Posted yesterday at 06:52 PM Indeed. Just to clarify - from what I know and believe to be true - there are only a very small number of documented HiPo '64 Comets, available only by special order. The 289 four barrel was a more regular option, as was the four speed. If your friend's car was a Cyclone, it would have automatically came with the 289 4v and the chrome air cleaner top and valve covers. Either way, those parts are easily added.
stavanzer Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago After looking at these Comet Kits, I find that I prefer the looks of the '65 over the '64. Something about the Stacked, Dual Quad Headlights on the '65 just look more Serious to me. Since I have one '65 Kit, I think I am set. One Question. Will the Twin Nostril Hood from the '64, fit the '65 Body?

Yes, the online furor over what 'tis and 'taint in the 1964 HP Comet world continues to rage. I am not sure if the magazine survived the move, but one of the books from the era covered the installation of the Paxton supercharger on a 2-door post '64 **with** the HP engine. I'm guessing it was a Roger Huntinton story, he lived in the same area, and was tuned into the scene. Comet was ordered and sold through Al Edwards L-M in Lansing, MI. They mention the solid cam, etc, so it was a legit little hot rod.
sfhess Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I wonder if that pro touring chassis would fit my AMT 63 and 64 Fairlane kits.
