martsky Posted October 25 Posted October 25 I have somehow convinced myself that amt once issued a 57 T-Bird styline kit that included some Battlebird like features (like head rest fairing, etc). Real or dementia?
Shark Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Mark will know. I am sure he will reply when he sees your question.
Exotics_Builder Posted October 25 Posted October 25 I have an early Styline kit down in the stash and there is nothing that exactly fits the Battlebird mods. I think there are headrest fairings in the kit, but not like the Battlebird. Here are the instructions from the Drastic Plastic site. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/ford/1951-1960/amt-57-t-bird-troph/?view=roll#7
Mark Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Nope. First the Stylizing parts, then the Here Comes the Judge drag version, then everything got chopped out or blocked off. The Vegas TV show version added a Continental tire kit (different from the Styline one) and a handful of parts have been unblocked since then. I don't think it would be too tough to scratch the Battlebird fairing and other parts.
EngineerBob Posted October 25 Posted October 25 I haven't seen a Battlebird style kit. I made my headrest fairing out of a B17 model tailfin:
martsky Posted October 25 Author Posted October 25 So, I'll go with dementia. Gerry, Thanks for the instruction sheet. I had completely forgotten about those stupid little tubes of putty. Grant, Good looking build! M
Chris V Posted October 26 Posted October 26 If you want to replicate the Hilborn injected 312 Y-block, Mapleleaf Modelworks offers a conversion kit with the ribbed valve covers and authentic stacked injectors: Y-Block Injector Combo 1 1
