The annual kit came with a cross-ram Race Hemi.  The engine and chassis parts were reused in the MPC '66-'67 Charger kits, so the engine from one of those will interchange.  The Charger kits don't have the same exhaust headers as the Coronet though.

I have a hemi that came with that model and other Mopar models but was out of the car but has a blower, would that cross ram intake also be similar to the 69 Barracuda setup.

The reissue Chargers all have the cross ram.  But if you don't have that one, any of the others out there should work.

The AMT 1968 roadrunner hemi and Revell '68 hemi dart would have the correct intake but the motor in the '65 sported a 727 transmission, so if accuracy is what you seek, you'll also have to hunt down one of those.

This is a puzzler. Do you want to restore it as it was offered by MPC? Or for a stock ‘65 Coronet 500?

The kit came with a cross ram race Hemi. You can find more or less the same engine in most releases of the MPC ‘66-‘67 Charger. It’s exactly the same tooling like Mark says above.

The Coronet 500 in 1:1 was never available with the Hemi. The top option would have been the 426 Street Wedge. You could use any kit 440, with an air cleaner from either the MPC ‘68 Coronet, Moebius ‘65 Dodge or Plymouth with wedge engines, or Lindberg ‘64 Dodges / Plymouths with the wedge engine.

If you want something that would look like something MPC would have put in as a stock engine that would be accurate to a ‘65 Coronet, then maybe the 440 engine from the MPC ‘68 Coronet could be adapted. You would have to work on the transmission, as the ‘68 has a trans that’s split between the driveshaft and the case. If you look at the ‘68 Coronet kit parts, you’ll see exactly what I mean.

That is a good question,I think the loose hemi I have is from the Coronet since it has the 727 trans but has a blower added and I have two hoods with one being stock and the other having the twin scoops with holes cut for the air cleaner clearance.  I think I have a 426 from the Lindberg kits so I could actually make it like the way it could be ordered from the factory,I will try to find the 426 and go from there.  The 65 Fury that I think was built by the same person has a hemi with the cross ram intake but no carbs.
