I may have a bicycle project soon!

Hey, everyone! While riding through town not too long ago, I passed by a thrift store that had a bunch of bikes out front..... I've always wanted a custom/lowrider bicycle! I do believe that as a gift to myself I may try to pick one of these thrift store bikes up! I've been looking around online at builds and accessories and such. I think that a 'beach cruiser' will be ideal for what I have in mind........ Searching on IG, I found this pic. I don't like the 'twisted' parts, but other than that it's perfect! It's basically a cruiser with forks and handle bars. 

The girl is giving a 'sign', I thought I should block that......... 

Any of y'all have any kind of bicycle project going? I know a lot of you like the old Schwinns and such!

I need to take some pix of my garage picked Schwinn 26" beach-ish cruiser. Coaster brake, no frills. I put new tubes & tires on it, and a rear fender rack. It rides great.

My brother is into high end road bikes. I think he owns about 17 of them. He takes very long rides every week.

It would be cool to see your cruiser, Bob! 

I'm thinking that I can grab one of those bikes for about $20 or so.......... It is a thrift store! Parts can get expensive though, especially anything chrome.

patina is in so you could do that while you gather the shiny bits

Very true, Les! While searching around, I have ran across a few 'klunker' type builds............ even ones that started out nice.

See, guys? This is just a 'daily driver' cruiser with forks and bars........... A snazzy seat and some whitewalls, and presto-chango!

Yes sir, you can get pretty much whatever you want for a bike anymore! There's a few companies that make Sting Ray clones, in all chrome even.......

I don't know if it would even fit with the style you're going for, but as a young Junior High paper boy I had a rack designed for the paper saddle bags that we would put our papers in when delivering them on our routes. At the time they became popular with others that didn't even have a paper route.
