Wagonmaster110 Posted Thursday at 05:38 AM Author Posted Thursday at 05:38 AM I'm in sounds like a great idea. Just need to figure which one. 1
Beans Posted Thursday at 12:46 PM Posted Thursday at 12:46 PM I was thinking on this yesterday and my reasonable choices are a 71 Nova, 2010 Mustang, 74 Maverick...but I think I am going to challenge myself and go with the Chevy HHR SS. I think Jimmy Flintstone still sells a resin body but it will take some creative butchery to make it all work the way I want. 2
oldcarfan Posted Thursday at 04:41 PM Posted Thursday at 04:41 PM I've always had a thing for German and Japanese stuff and I bought or almost bought a lot of awesome mistakes like a $2000 Bentley that was more Bondo than steel or a $3500 BMW 635 that the dealer swore had a new engine and great original paint. *Spoiler alert: He lied.* Not to mention a Mustang and a Challenger that you could put your foot through the floorboard. 2

LOL, foot through the floorboard. One of my rock band buddies had an old flat nose van back in the early 80s, hole in the floorboard under his driver side, put a mat over it so...what could go wrong?...Well, hit a good sized puddle, enough said! 3

Oh that brings back memories! I had a '74 Econoline, though it was pretty solid, it was no fun to drive. I took it back to the guy I bought it from and traded it (plus cash) for the 76 Trans Am that I'm using as a starting point for my CBR build! 1
Beans Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Once upon a time I had a 1978 bronco, until i decided to replace the carpet and pulled it up on the passenger side to realize there wasn't much underneath it (except the ground). Sold it off and saw it years later parked in a parking lot, the entire thing was rusted out. 1

I grew up on the Gulf of Mexico and in the 90s new cars could rust out in a year or two. Friend's Chevy truck had rust so bad there would be a sandstorm inside when he drove on the beach. During a party one night he decided to 'borrow' a big Padre Island Access Ahead sign to patch it. He hooked a chain from his bumper to the sign and drove away. The sign stayed and so did the bumper and a little of the rusty frame. The Park Rangers were already at his house when he got home. 2
