tim boyd Posted yesterday at 12:01 AM Posted yesterday at 12:01 AM (edited) This was built from the mid-1980's rebox of the 1970's Revell John Buttera series 1927 Ford Touring kit. It was inspired by an art image created by the late Brian Bordon, and and brought to life the kit mods he envisioned that were not fully delivered by the mildly tweaked kit in the box. Mods included a body color grille shell, 1936 Ford style bullet headlamp shells, and a chopped and modified top with wider side panels. The paint was Mopar 1972/73 Code B3 Basin St. Blue/Super Blue, and the graphics were those in the kit as designed by Mr. Bordon. IIRC, the kit engine was also updated with MPC 1987 Mustang GT 5.0L EFI /intake and valve covers. This buildup was featured in my Street Rodder Modeler's Corner column in the late 1980's. More images below, and thanks for looking! TIM ***** Edited yesterday at 12:06 AM by tim boyd 8
Bainford Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Cool build. Very period. I really like the Revell Buttera kits. This one is very solidly in the 80s. The 80s aesthetic sure does date itself.
