Trainwreck Posted Tuesday at 06:22 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:22 PM Don't know if this will be helpful to someone but here goes nothin'. I've been swapping frames in models for quite a few years and found this to be the easiest way to get the old style bucket interior to sit on a new frame without all the work. A few basic measurements are all that's required. Sorry about the picture quality. (was done in paint.)
Can-Con Posted Tuesday at 06:30 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:30 PM Might be helpful to know exactly which kits you're talking about here.

This can be applied to any kit that has to mate a full floorboard to any older "bucket" style interior, uses don't only apply to one or two kits.
Trainwreck Posted Wednesday at 02:21 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 02:21 AM So, here are 3 examples of the above drawing. The '66 Mustang borrowed it's frame from a '67, the '66 T-Bird is riding a on a '62 and the '64 Comet wears the '66 Fairlane. As you can see the cutouts will vary depending on the application. 1 1
johnyrotten Posted Wednesday at 02:43 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:43 AM Being similar vintage and make, they line up well, and your trick works out pretty good. I tried a chassis swap with a 67 charger, 70 gtx/ roadrunner chassis, and would have ended up losing the interior tub wheel houses or the chassis ones. Those were different kit brands, and interior design styles,I'm sure that played a part in my issues. All in all, creative thinking and nice work. A good tip for anyone building similar. 1

As for the the swap you mentioned those are two different scales, that's like comparing apples and oranges. 1

They were both 1/25. Mpc charger body and interior and the amt gtx/roadrunner chassis. Scale differences would most definitely open a can of worms,to put it lightly. 1
NOBLNG Posted Wednesday at 09:25 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:25 PM Simple but effective.👍 I’ll file this tip away for future reference. 1
