1959scudetto Posted yesterday at 07:08 PM Posted yesterday at 07:08 PM (edited) is the Matchbox Lesney # 75 "Ferrari Berlinetta" which is in fact the Ferrari 250 GT/L "Lusso". A neat little die-cast toy I had almost 60 years ago. Of course it got lost over time, but about 30 years ago I could acquire a nice, almost mint one, with a mostly intact original box: Some years ago,I happened to get another one in a play-worn condition and decided to pimp it up a bit: it was disassembled, interior got a satin black respray, the body was spray-painted with light blue metallic car-laquer (after removing those ugly molding lines with files and sandpaper), the scratched clear part was polished as good as possible. At last I sprayed bumpers and spoke wheels with Revell chrome , modified the steering wheel for 3 spokes and applied some paint detailing - with a toothpick and a fine brush: lights, indicators, steering wheel, license plate and Ferrari badge. This is what it looks like now (the green stock model will remain untouched): Edited 21 hours ago by 1959scudetto 5
Mark W Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Looks great. One could make detailing these little gems a complete hobby in itself. When possible, I acquire a miniature of larger scale build I completed.

vintagerpm Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago That is also my favorite Ferrari. I still have my original Matchbox car, in the same green. Of course, it has paint chips from use back in theday. 🙂 I liked it so much, I acquired a long OOP Precesion Miniatures 1/43 white metal kit of the car, and built a replica of the diecast. (For you larger scale builders, MFH produced a 1/24 multi-media kit of the car.)
