Lyn Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I went to storage today, opened random boxes brought home 13 or so models and I can't find this 1934 ford coupe/convertible customizing kit anywhere online, the instructions say it was copyright in 1962, should I hold onto it or post it on ebay? Monogram pc72.198 I also can not find Jaguar XK-E Revell H-1280:198 this one I brough 2 home, I want to post one on ebay and one on your site $5.99? a fair price to start it at? While I am posting, I also am going to post a Revell Mclaren Mustang 7315 on your site this weekend too. $5.99 fair for this one too? I am sorry to be a pain with all these questions.. Thanks, Lyn
jimnohio Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 5.99 is more than fair...truth be told, collectors will find the really good stuff no matter what price it starts at. On ebay the listing fees are the same up to 9.99 (unless you list for .99, then you save a few cents). I see many start at 4.99 or so, and if the car is valuable, you can watch the bids escalate...that's always fun! I myself start most at 9.99, but it really does not matter, those cars will bring $75-$150 or more if your lucky. The big dealers at this site will likely have an idea what those cars you mentioned is worth. I'll check around a little too, I got rained off my regualr job this afternoon. LOL...I got some free time.
jimnohio Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I see Gas Alley has the 34 Ford BOX ONLY listed for $40. LOL...that tells you how rare that kit is.
Lyn Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 Hi, thanks everyone for the replys.. I listed models today on ebay for 99 cents and up we'll see what happens with those, the one batch of model car mags sold for $30. Yes it is important to me that these models go to those who love them as much as my Father did but I would like to make a few bucks on some of them too. LOL I am tired already and I am only on day two of probably 6 months of selling, there are SO MANY OF THEM!!! I thought at first 1,000 but total there probably is 2,000 or more with the built/partial built ones and that doesn't include the boxes of parts and bodies.

Lyn, I have an older version of the Directory of Model Car kits. Remember this is a guide only and an open market wil certainly reveal the actual price. Anyway, listed as a 1934 Ford 3 window coupe/convertible 6-in-1 issued '62 PC-72, $150.00. I'm sure the price will be about that give or take these days. Chris
