  1. That guy runs those high priced kits over and over and over...maybe he sells some??? LOL...he usually does have some pretty cool kits though! My new fav is the guy selling parts packs....wheels/tires from a Funny Car $19.95. LOL...we sell the whole kit for that! The Berretta Pro Street sells for $20-$25 when we get them in. (Just wanted to share)
  2. We just got one of these today. I thought it odd as I don't remember "Lowrider" themed cars from the 70's. Its molded in pink as you say.
  3. I have been asked how you built this Trans Am. Would you mind sharing the proccess of that build? Please post here or stop in at Jimnohio Facebookand tell all! :-) Thanks! Jim
  4. Holy moly! That is probably the coolest Camaro I have ever seen. Real or model! Awesome!
  5. I was looking at your other 'custom wagons' at your fotki site....very impressive customs! I was blown away at your great subjects and the execution is even better. You are a gifted builder! Nice job on this one as well as the others at your site. WOW!
  6. LOL...well I was wondering who the "most popular" poster was....now I know! :-)
  7. Well as a buyer, I have to ask the question that seems to have slipped by...are these 1000 of the built or unbuilt variety? Typically a collection like this includes 100's of built models. Also, have they been stored properly? Contacting a large dealer is a place to start, but as stated earlier...smaller lots (of say 50-100) would make you the most money and not take that much time. A list is important unless the buyer is close enough to see them in person.
  8. The one on Cleveland West side had some of the Testors Harley Motorcycles earlier this year ($9.99), and a Nascar kit (I forget the driver) for $4.99. Nothing since. LOL...I check there just like the rest of you!
  9. I hate to say it (obvious reasons) but I saw some Revell kits at a Kmart near me...and this Kmart is not one of the big Super K's, its actually kind of small. Maybe KMart is going to have some models for Christmas this year? Nothing special, but some priced at $12.99, 15.99, and for some reason Bullit Mustangs (old and new) were $19.99. A few easy builds as well. Just sharing...
  10. That's the right way to list and buy on ebay! $6.00-$8.00 is the right price for shipping! Nice job. There are plenty of sellers who offer items in this manner.
  11. We have a few of those in the back room, as well as Revell's version. They don't sell well, but some are kind of cool. Someday I'll actually get them on site. Also have some in the same type of boxes with diecast bodies.
  12. As I scrolled down through the pics....after the 3rd or 4th pic I realized this was the MODEL. At first, I thought the pics were of the real car you were using for reference. Amazing car! I can't add anything to what was already said. I am still staring at this build. WOW.
  13. me too! I wondered that as well. I could maybe see a full out custom body to show WIP, but that's not usually the case. I took a break at 90 something...
  14. Thanks Tim, for sharing. Now I'll be up all night trying to see them all! Nice choice for teaser in the post as well...very cool lookin FC.
  15. I didn't mean to imply that you were overcharging. I have also used UPS in the past, and actually very much like their service. I have never really had a problem with them. I just found that USPS is much cheaper for 1-2 kits in most cases. USPS priority offers "confirmation" for free. Its not tracking, but it does serve the purpose we need. $50 insurance is included I beleive, regardless...I choose to self insure on most kits. Only the "normal" kits will ship for 1 lb., if you use a box made for them. Our boxes were made just for this purpose, so they are just big enough. Now at 1 lb. the highest rate for us is $5.44 (with our discount). We also have boxes sized for 2 kits, and can ship 2 kits for 2 or 3 lb. rate (depending the kits). One kit is right at 1 lb. in a box, and yes maybe sometimes slightly over (cause I do use a bath scale...J/K). 2 kits require a bigger box (obviously) and will many times go over 2 lbs. Of the 2000+ kits we sold....ZERO have been lost (UPS or USPS). Not one lost kit...even shipping 100's overseas. By the way...we use Indicia shipping, they allow 1st Class International shipping, they have a nice shipping log, and the labels will print on our thermal printer. They do not offer UPS from their site though (curiously?). I have been a UPS shipper for 12 years, but no longer have daily pickup as we ship about 6-1 USPS. If you were to ask me, I have no preference. If all things were equal: USPS travels on the weekend, so I like them for Friday/Saturday shipping. UPS will get to the next state overnight in many cases...so I like them during the week. Edited to add: You are in AZ, which I bet has very few cities "nearby", where as I am in Cleveland and most of the midwest cities are 1, 2, or 3 zones away. I'd bet its makes a huge difference. LOL...I know its expensive to ship to your state from here! :-)
  16. Glad to help....and by the way, WELCOME to the FORUM! Jim
  17. Here you go.... Another part of this forum... Many of the modeling questions are in the tips and tricks section. Hope this helps...
  18. I actually have sold very few model kits on ebay, but I have sold $1000's worth of 1/18 diecast (years back). I usually offered one price shipping back in 01-02. We sold diecast at $8.00 shipping UPS, all added items shipped free. The difference was those items sold for $50-$100, not $10-$20 like kits do. We have a one price shipping from our model kit site...$6.00! Its all these issues we are discussing that made me believe the best way for our on line store to handle shipping was to go with one price for all. (Foreign orders are another story, obviously.) When I do go on ebay for buying, I always check the "free shipping" items first. I like that method best of all as a buyer, so your items (wheelman) would be my first view. :-)
  19. I also like this method of listing...BUT, the closing fees are based on the actual amount the item sells for, so that guy who sold his item for $11.50 and charged $8.50 shipping pays fees on $11.50, on the other hand you pay fees on $20.00! Multiply that by 50-100 items that some power sellers are listing, and well...you get the idea.
  20. Very well said, and I agree with you on all points...except: I do check out Craigslist from time to time. For model kits, construction related items, and other major items i may buy used. We got a set of neew tires on TT's for my son's Mustang for 1/2 price (for example).
  21. The comment was intended to be a generalization. Of course there are good amature shippers. I was giving general advice for the OP. For example: I see guys who only ship Mon and Thurs because they don't want to go to the post office everyday. Well....USPS and UPS both offer pick up service. You only have to hand the package to your driver (or any driver for that matter). Your daily mailman will take your package if you use USPS.
  22. For one kit, in the right size box...we can ship to anywhere USA for max of $5.44 actual cost USPS Priority (not UPS). For 2 or more it varies greatly. For us, this is our way of offering a discount for mulitple purchases. Obvioulsy, when someone orders 4 kits in AZ it costs us more than $6.00 to ship. UPS is the best rate when the package gets large or over 5 lbs.
