I saw that last week on the weather channel and it's the most awesome tornado video I've ever seen. Those guys who took the video were pretty happy to see that after 4 weeks of nothing. I'd love to tag along doing tornado chasing sometime ;)

I've only ever seen one tornado here in Central PA, and that was back in '96. It didn't last long, but it did some damage to a few buildings on a busy road.

We don't get them here very often thank goodness as I sleep during the day, (from about noon to 7pm) and that's when they seem to be at their peak. I do have the Weather Channel on my laptop so this time of year, I'll leave the laptop open while I'm asleep in case there's any severe storm warnings.

The Weather Channel sounds a big thunderclap in case a severe storm warning pops up on their radar for my area. That thunderclap will wake me up! ;)

I was in Oaklahoma once on I-40 trying to outrun one just outside Ponca City once . he truck I had wasempty and I was headed back eventually to Dallas to receive another load . I also witnessed yet anotherone in Houston one evening right south of the Intercontital airpoirtat Litle York road and I-45 . That one wasmabye a quarter of a mile from me over by Eastex Freeway ( U S 59 ) . Then I had to help clean up after one landed behind my late fathers house years later in Richmond Va. well, that "sideways" tornado was in wyoming! i think! but here florida............. well thats another story! if you look in my avitar, that a pic of one of the lastest storms! but we have had a few tornados, but they are very rare here! but we mainly get: alot of fires, hurricanes, flooding, once in a while a couple of water spouts, and also sink holes!

i had a taco bell sign land in my yard from a hurricane! that was funny! LOL! ;)

The tornado looks like it was trying to form an elephant trunk but didn't quite make it....

Elephanttrunktornado.jpg

They will spin and twist sideways....

The little tornado inside was a suction vortice that spins inside and causes the most damage.

That's a hell of a video! Nobody has ever captured a tornado that you could see into. There have been witnesses that have seen the inside of a tornado, but didn't have a camera with them.

Thanks for posting that!

Here's a storm I chased on 6-9-09, that I thought you would like Brandon. These are videos of the storm as it was coming towards me. Mother Natures light show....

They are 10 minutes each, and the lightning was really flying!

After these I chased over to the Kansas/Missouri border and got walloped by 70 MPH outer winds of a tornado that had gone by Pittsburg Ks....

WHAT A RUSH!!!!

Could someone post pictures instead of video? I have dialup, and it takes forever to load video.
