Rick Schmidt Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Over the last couple of weeks I keep gettin the idea that I should paint a car olive drab and do it up as a military car ( must be Sill gettin to me ) The cars I keep thinkin I should do this to are the 51 Chevy Fleetline or the 55 or 57 Chevy 150s I got. I'm pretty sure the 51 aint right since its not the low end but the 55 and 57 are, but they are 2 door I know tri five staff cars existed cause I found a 57 but can't tell what it is Would a 2 door be wrong ?? Any one got any good pics of these things ???
James W Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 It would not be hard to remove the Delux chrome trim from the 51 chev Fleetline and paint the remaining trim to replicate a staff car. I know there was chrome rationing during the Korean war and cars went without it for a while. Whitewalls too. A business coupe would be good for a staff car. As would a four door car. Four doors shared the same wheel base with two doors on many cars in the 50's if that gives you any ideas. Even the 68/69 Darts could be used. Or the 64 Dodge/Plymouths from Lindberg.

Virtually all military staff cars, from the 40's on forward, were baseline 4dr sedans. Art
