Nick Winter Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 well this is a parts box car that spilled over into a real build. This is the original Monogram buick GNX model kit that a freind of mine Rob sent me with some other stuff he cleaned out. So I'm building it as a track/ street car so it should be interesting. So here are the pictures feel free to comment or critisize. Nick
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 This is gonna be an awasome build, Nick. Are those the wheels I sent you? I hope they are the right ones. Great start, 'cuz.

Guest Mustang3.8 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) Hmm... that's a thinker. If you are in need of a full cage, I've got one from my F&F 1970 Charger. Edited June 26, 2009 by Mustang3.8
dwc43 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Model round up has a cheap cage for about 5 bucks if you don't want to build one from scratch.
Joe Handley Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Is it going to be like one driven by Bo Duke in one of the later Dukes episodes?
Nick Winter Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 Hmm... that's a thinker. If you are in need of a full cage, I've got one from my F&F 1970 Charger. Well I have an idea of how it could work. I'll pm you about the cage. Model round up has a cheap cage for about 5 bucks if you don't want to build one from scratch. I already have. But thanks anyway.
Nick Winter Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 Is it going to be like one driven by Bo Duke in one of the later Dukes episodes? In a way yes and in a way no.

Nick Winter Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 Well I finished the chassis and built a suspension using some parts from an El camino I had. I also painted it using duplicolor black primer thanks to some advise from a member.
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Great job on the chassis. I plan on converting one of these to an '87 Olds Cutlass. Keep up the awasome work.

Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Hopefully, I can pull it off. I know the GN and the Cutlass had the same basic body shape and design. After all, if I can turn a Ford Galaxie four door into a '74 Dodge Monaco, this should be easy.

Yep my cousin has all three of that body style the buick regal, the oldsmobile cutlass and the chevy monte carlo. You did?
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Your cousin has the Olds? Is it resin? And yes, I made a Bluesmobile out of a '69 Ford Galaxie sedan. It took alot of scratch building.
