loudcherokee Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 This is only the second bike I ever built, and my first ever two tone paint job. I was worried at first, but the masks supplied by Tamiya made it pretty easy. The orange is a custom mix of Stop Light Red, Turn Signal Amber, and some other kind of metallic orange by model master. The black is actually flat black, with clear gloss over the whole paint job. This is the paint combo I want on a 1:1 bike if i ever get one. Not a Busa though. I want a 2006 Katana 750. LC
67PontiacGTO Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 How hard was that kit to put together. I have been wanting to get one myself. Clutch
MrObsessive Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Oooooh! Nice Ride! I love the contrast of colors! In all the years I've built models, that's something I've never tried..........a motorcycle!
loudcherokee Posted July 1, 2009 Author Posted July 1, 2009 Tamiyas motorcycles actually go together very well. I was rather impressed. I think the hardest part was the two tone masking. You get two different designs though. The one I did, and the newer version of stripes/graphics. I wish they would do a GSXR. LC
cruz Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Very cool, those Tamiya bikes really go well together. I have one built and three stashed away, I will be doing another one of these days.....
