Well i got my engine painted and the body, chassis plate, front nose peice, the rear tail pan, and the radiator plate. It took me a while to get everything painted because It kept raining so i was stuck inside the trailer or under my canopy for 2 1/2 ot the 3 1/2 days i was up there. First pictures were takin inside my trailer the day i painted everything. The rest are takin in my photobooth. In the photobooth The rain

Nick Winter Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 I did some more work. I detail painted the chassis and assembled it. I also started to detail paint the chrome but ran out of paint. Did the turn signals though. i put the body to chassis and poped the interior in, so that I could get an idea of what she's gonna look like. I also poped the engine in for a idea of how the red will look against the green. Now my favorit the stance, it looks bada**, I love the stance.
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Looks great, 'cuz. I like the blacked out wheels. Bad-a** is an understatement. Great work.

Guest Mustang3.8 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Thanks. not to make you sound dumb but those are the wheel backs. No problem. I did not know that. I would go with blacked out wheels.
MrObsessive Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Yeah today it sucks growing up loving cars there's hardly any eye candy. You would have been 8 in '69 right Bill. That's right! .............and a very car aware eight year old then! I might not have known all the years or even all the makes, but there was IMO a lot more variety of what I saw on the streets then compared to what I see today. I also think there were a LOT more "oddball/quirky" makes on the road then as opposed to now. Today, too many people regard cars as nothing more than appliances........and what they buy reflects this.
Nick Winter Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 No problem. I did not know that. I would go with blacked out wheels. Well your post got me thinking and I like the steel wheels but I have one problem in '69 you had three wheel choices on the coronet, and the wheels included in this kit are rally wheels and they were avaliable on the coronet R/T but not the Superbee, the Superbee had 2 choices the steel wheels and the police rallye wheels with the rallye cap, so I need to locate a set of either. Here are some pictures to help explain
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 (edited) They both look great. I think I may have both sets. Edited August 6, 2009 by Mustang3.8
Nick Winter Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 They both look great. I think I may have both sets. I'll Pm you on that then.
Nick Winter Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 PM recieved and replied. I did all the under hood work.
dwc43 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Nice. Just for future reference, the wiper motors are painted black, the brake boosters on the older cars can be black or gold iridite. An most people don't know the washer tanks were clear plastic when new. They turn this whiteish tanish color with age and under hood heat. So far, I have only seen one built with a clear washer tank.

I wouldn't call them "clear", I'd say semi-transparent.. I believe they were made out of polyethylene, I know my overflow tank is. Edited August 7, 2009 by cosmiccadillac
ewaskew Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Can the car have updated work on it. I have a 69 Chevelle that I'm building. It has a scratch built chassis that I'm building with 66 parts built so far. And its in the dry fit stage it will be broke down after I'm finished then painted & assembled. Up dated rear end with air bag shocks, front end is IFS style with air bag shocks. No body changes Add me to the list if it qualifies and I'll try to get some photos on here.

Well if you look I haven't finished the detailing yet i ran out of black and silver aswell as some other stuff like glue. This washer tank is molded in so Thats a problem as well. I agree all the new cars I've seen either have whit or almost clear but not.

Sure as long as it looks like a '69 chevelle on the outside and somewhat on the inside i'm happy. Well, yeah, it's not clear like glass. yep.
