LOL!!!! those are pretty spiffy however vw made a beetle duting WW2 that looks an awefull lot like that so lest i got acused of building a actual factory truck mine will be much more radical i dumped the aircooled boxer and went with a 1.8 GTI engine with a custom turbo on it that will be mounted under the hood (you know, on the front of the car) hooked up to a ford 9 inch rear end and this will allow me to build a bed that is a much better depiction of contempary trucks Well lets see some progress Eelco ill shoot some shots after i get back from church today

diymirage
ok guys here are some realy crude mock up nothing is set in stone yet as far as ride hieght, fender gap and what not also, im thinking i should build some sort of tail gate still got a long long way to go but its a start as always, input, suggestions and tips are always apreciated
B_rad88
wow, that looks cool! is it going to have a "flip front"? i have a suggestion, build the sides straight out with the vw rear fenders, and build a straight-up right tailgate, and have a "Box" type bed! that should(i only said should) be easy! LOL! and one other thing, i would add a bed cover! just for S&G!!!!!! LOL! EDIT: if you don't mind me saying!!!!! EDIT: if you don't mind me saying!!!!! if you pay close attention to the front beam of the frame you'll see it is actually build out of 4 parts 3 of them are 1/8 tubing drilled out to 3/32 the 4th part is a 3/32 rod all three of the tubes are slid onto the rod and the outer two are gleud on the one in the middle is loose and will rotate thats what the nose will be gleud onto in order to flip i am planning on keeping all of the body as it is right now and adding the box pretty much like you said i dont think im gonna ad a cover for it, you see, the floor os made out of styrene 1 beams and the wood is made out of, well you guessed it, wood therefor i dont want to hide it

Can I make a suggestion, maybe when you build the bed have the top rails and letters on the tail gate like a old school chevy, dodge, or ford stepside/ fleetside. wow, that looks cool! is it going to have a "flip front"? i have a suggestion, build the sides straight out with the vw rear fenders, and build a straight-up right tailgate, and have a "Box" type bed! that should(i only said should) be easy! diymirage
Is that the 9 inch I sent you Eelco? sure is i will be using that rear end and the driveshaft you send with it (it turned out the 1.8 came with a tranny i could modify to work but i didnt know that when i requested one) as for lettering on the tailgate, i do like the idea but i am not sure if i will, i mean "volkswagen" is a lot of letters for a rather small tailgate if i can find someone willing to make me a decal i might just put "v-dub" on there or "wildcart" yeah, i like that ill try to go with that

Any plans to possibly chop the top? As far as the bed's concerned are you going to extend the rear part a little, or have a little box section behind the fenders? I guess Im just anxious to see progress! Looks great though and really awesome idea!

Toast
Is it too late to enter? I've had a Silverado sitting on the work bench that I haven't been making much progress on. This could be a good motivator.
diymirage
ok cool. when i said the lettering on the tail gate i meant VW mhhh...i think VW is the except oposite of the volkswagen....to little i hijacked a thread in the "wanted" section and hopefully someone will make me a decal that says "wild-cart" So I have questions about this Wildcart, cause it is pretty wild. Any plans to possibly chop the top? As far as the bed's concerned are you going to extend the rear part a little, or have a little box section behind the fenders? I guess Im just anxious to see progress! Looks great though and really awesome idea! no chop top in mind to be honoust, im not sure if that is within my skills just yet so im going to leave the roof at the height it is also because i want it to look like at one point it was a vw beetle as for the bed, it will hang over just a little bit im thinking right now to try to keep the rear overhang equal to the front but nothing is set in stone yet so i might change that later on thanks for all the nice words guys im not sure when i will have some more time to dedicated to this...got a docters apointment for the baby 2 morrow church seminair on tuesday nothing yet on wednesday worship band practice on thursday youth group on friday so maybe this saturday

I have a 97 f150 that i will enter so i can do something with it Sure I'll add you to the list.
