olarge1 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I had so much fun on my rat rod that I thought it needed a friend, so I chopped the top on this sedan today. I’m thinking suicide front end, Z'd rear, channeled and suede green paint.
vizio93 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 heck yeah man, it almost looks like the stance that mine started out with : can't wait to see what yours look like
jhuntsman Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 nice start! im working on one too but not quite as hacked up as yours.
Alyn Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 gotta love these sedan bodies. Your's is looking good with those wheels. They're scream'n for big block power. BBC or Red Ram would set well.
Bernard Kron Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 You always seem to add something special to your builds. In this case its the wedge chop that gives the back half of the cab almost a teardrop effect. It really complements the stance well. It's gonna one sexy lookin' ride!

[/quot Thanks, Bernard Good Eye I wasn’t sure if any one would notice I try to make modifications subtle and thought that it fit the lines of the sedan, and accentuates that hot rod rake!
olarge1 Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 I dialed in the suspension tonight, I had to make the axel tubes longer, and I found that a little c notch in the frame helped me get the front extra low but still allowed room for the oil pan to clear... tried a new wheel and tire package. What do you think?
olarge1 Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) Here is a few pic's of how I lowered the front end , I sanding down the leafs it turns it in to a mono leaf spring and lowers the front I also C notched the frame to get a little more clearance. And here is the rear axel. The tubes had to be longer so I cut off the tubes @ the housing and drilled out the housing inserted plastic rod and cut to length and fitted the mounting pins from the kit on the end of the axels. olarge1 Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 what brand is your kit? I'm using the Revell 2'n1 sedan..
pstreet Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Looking great, Im diggin' the wedge chop. There was a 1:1 that looked similar to your build that i use to see at car shows. It was painted a lime green kandy over a heavy gold flake, and I think it had a 351.
voljeepx Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Killer stance! Rally wheels are always a good chioce, too!
Chuck Most Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Allow me to reiterate everyone else's favorite feature: Nice stance! Looking awesome so far...

vizio93 Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Wow man that looks really good since i last saw it !!! i would just keep those stacks on it. they look good. if not make some out of straws like i did (You have to have some really big carbs though): then mount them on a 502
olarge1 Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 Hey, thanks guys... I think the hardest part of a chop is not the chop it self but making every thing else fit?.. had to compleatly change the back seat area and re-work the wheel tub area.. came out ok .. i think a picknic basket in the back would look cool? just a thought..
olarge1 Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 (edited) Came up with a new bomer seat design..What do you think? Edited August 31, 2009 by olarge1
made007 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 i like the seats, now its your fault that i want to build a 32 sedan,
olarge1 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 When I started this project I was going to do a suede Green paint job, but had thought? Olive drab Green with Army star all faded out on the doors?...i just don't know... Has any one used photo shop to try different paint schemes? i have seen it done on other 1:1 forums. I don't know how to use photo shop or i would give it try.
olarge1 Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 (edited) I didn't get much done today, scratch build a caliper, the first one was easy, but getting 3 more to match will be the hard part I think? Edited September 4, 2009 by olarge1
olarge1 Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 Well I was able to get back to it today... I tried the green thing and just didn't like the color was too dark but thought it would look Good faded out .. still looking for a graphic for the door. Any body have some ideas?
