Buildsince93 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Hi all heres my latest project its revell's 65 Chevelle SS, I messed up the paint on the roof so I decided to cut it off and make it a convertible with a Pro Touring look. This is my first dive into "customizing" a car and wiring an engine, I hope to get better as its a lot more fun than just building everything OOB. It has front seats from a 06 Mustang GT they fit pretty good, I used cranberry red felt for the carpet, visors and convertible top, also it has pegasus 19" cross drilled rotors and the rims are from the revell monte carlo snap kit. I still have to make finishing touches Door handles wipers etc....but I think it turned out pretty good for my first build in over 7 years any comments tips etc would be greatly appreciated Dante
RodneyBad Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Looks good as a Convertible. it needs some more lighting so we can see it better. That's all I can think of.
Buildsince93 Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 Thanks! yeah I need to get a better light hopefully after i move i can get a nicer one and take some better pics.....if you dont mind me asking where did you get the tow truck in your sig? and do you have any more pics of it? its sweet!
RodneyBad Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Thanks! yeah I need to get a better light hopefully after i move i can get a nicer one and take some better pics.....if you dont mind me asking where did you get the tow truck in your sig? and do you have any more pics of it? its sweet! Lighting is tricky. it takes a bit to figure out the best lighting. There are some tips in the tips section http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22078 The TowTruck I built a few yrs ago modeled off of one I drove. It's a Century Metro with a 6 way wheel-lift, Collins Pop-up dollies (Cadillac of Dollies) and Warn 8,000lb winch. Every thing behind the cab is 100% Scratch built. Okay, the light bar is a kit item. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...c=10432&hl=
Buildsince93 Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 Cool thanks for the link that tow truck is sweet I wanna make one out of the dodge ram dually kit finding one is a pain tho lol
MrObsessive Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 That looks pretty good for being a longtimer! I lightened up your pics somewhat..............you might want to check your camera setting to make sure it's not set for fluorescent lighting. That's what can give the blue tint to your pics.
george 53 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Ahhh YES, MUCH better! Zuke is right, it DOES look nice as a convertable. I wonder could you have used a 65 GTO boot on it? They were the same bodies under the sheetmetal, so I IMAGINE one would've fit. But yours came out NICE.Makes me wanna try it!

RodneyBad Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Ya gotta love the help ya get from here. Looks even better. Great looking Motor and paint. Nice wheels. Great job.. Now why didn't they think of that? Of course, what fun would it have been if the model Co made a Convertible anyways?
