Gerald, I would think ThunderBolt would be a misnomer. With a ride THAT big, I think "Rolling Thunder" would fit it better! :D Great build, lets see some more! ;);)

Thanks for the compliments. Its straight OOB old AMT kit with front wheels from Revell 49 Merc. I built drag cars almost exclusively when I was a teen and this is the first drag car ive built since returning to the hobby. Wont be the last one.

Thanks for the replys everyone and here is one more pic. Just looking at this pic makes me hear the engine wailing. The molds for this kit are still very crisp and clean. It needs some decals on it and I like your suggestion George. Rolling Thunder would be a great name for it.

You're not really too far from reality. In '63 & '64 Ford built Galaxies with the Thunderbolt engine combo, teardrop hood, etc. Dropping the FE 427 into the Fairlane was an effort to make Ford more competitive against the 427 BB Chevies and Dodges/Plymouths with the Stage 3 426 wedge or Hemi.
