Thanks anyway Lyn. I have those, they came with the kit, and I plan on using them. The wheel backs are molded in blue on the ones for sale, but my kit is molded in white.

Thanks again!

If my memory isn't all wrong, I have a strong sense that it came out in 1976. In 1977 I helped a friend convert this kit to radio control. We found some 1/12 scale wheels and tires for the rear, so naturally it became really jacked up. I painted it Pactra candy red. We got it finished just in time for a Classic Chevy meeting, and it was quite popular. Not sure if my friend still has it.

I found an old AMT catalog, from 1977, and it shows the convert and Nomad as new releases. So the Hardtop had to be from 1976.

I built the hardtop kit as one of my last models before i lost interest in the hobby for a few years so 1976 sound about right. Dont recall which box it was in but I bought it at a Kmart along with an MPC 1 /16 split window Stingray. Remember having to do some major cutting to get the back bumper to fit right on the 57. Thats a great find man.

That would've been cool to see! Thanks for the help!

Thanks to you also!

I had the 1/16th '63 myself, but I can't remember what it was like to build...

I hope the rear bumper isn't too bad to work with! That would reek!

From what I recall, there was a large flange at the bottom of the body that caused the bumper to stick out from the body too far and I had to trim that off. On a 1/16 body that was a lot of trimming! Or maybe I did something wrong when I built it.
