Nick Winter Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 I'm still painting. but also need to fabricate a driveshaft.
Nick Winter Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) I thought in between coats I'd give you a "Teaser" pic. You guys are gonna be angry I didn't give you a good picture, 2 reasons why it's a "Teaser" 1.) I took it from 5 feet away from my work bench. 2.) It's on my old beat up work bench rather than my Photobooth. Edited October 9, 2009 by Dukefan69'
Nick Winter Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 looks good from way back here... Thanks.

BigBlockLyle Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Nick, it looks sick so far. Keep up the good work. On a side note, what is the name of the episode of the Dukes of Hazzard where Boss Hogg tries to have the General crushed and it almost happens? It has been bugging me because I can remember the name.

Kyle, that episode was the Carnival of Thrills. Nope Kevin, you got it wrong, Carnival of Thrills is the episode were Boss has Rosco cut the fuel line on the General and he's almost wrecked coming off the take off ramp. And thanks.
Nick Winter Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 Lyle I think it's episode 68- Goodbye, General Lee. Well I painted it, got the interior inserts painted, made a driveshaft and put the body to the chassis.
Nick Winter Posted October 14, 2009 Author Posted October 14, 2009 Well here's "Cherry Bomb", I've added some more detail to the interior (I need to touch up the shifter ball, ###### finger), I taped off the Flames, And airbrushed the yellow.
B_rad88 Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 that looks sweet! nice job!!!! i can't wait to see more! LOL!

Oldboychas Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Nick, What did you use to paint the chassis? It looks very sharp and adds a lot of contrast to the build. Keep up the good work, I'm enjoying seeing it come together for you. oldboychas (Charlie Bower)

I finished the flames, there not perfect, but it's only my first time doing flames, and a multicolored paint job, not to mention it's only my 5th time using a airbrush for painting something bigger that a engine block.
Nick Winter Posted October 14, 2009 Author Posted October 14, 2009 wow, nice job nick! that looks sweet! Thanks Brandon.

Nick Winter Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 Well here's my update, the Willy's, has been cleared, I've made door handles, I've installed glass into all both doors, the windshield and rear wind screen, I've added a set of headers to it, made a steering column and mounted the steering wheel to it then installed the pair, added a brake booster and master cylinder. Just need to make some hinges, then it's final assembley.
Nick Winter Posted October 30, 2009 Author Posted October 30, 2009 I don't know if I'll ever finish this willy's, I've lost all motivation for this car, it's just sitting on my workbench collecting dust along side my Bandit's T/A
Nick Winter Posted November 3, 2009 Author Posted November 3, 2009 Well today I found some motivation. I just about finished it up, I suicided the doors, and added '49 merc taillights mounted vertically, rather than horizontally. Just waiting on my headlights from George53.
Nick Winter Posted November 3, 2009 Author Posted November 3, 2009 Forgot to mention there's some touch up I haven't done yet.
