.....it was what is mentioned on the side of the coffee cup that was given out to all participants.

It reads "the original NNL Nationals....30 years of friendship".

Through the NNL Nationals we've stayed in touch with many people who we would have long ago lost track of otherwise....and I think that's pretty special.

I don't know who came up with the idea of this wording on the coffee cup but whoever it was, all I can say is "right on".

Yeah,Tim, I gotta agree with ya there, it IS more of a Friendship gathering than anything else. The models are just an added plus!!! I REALLY enjoyed this years location too, it's MUCH easier to get to than the Maumee location, at least for ME it is. Definately hope to meet you next year. "31 Years of Friendship"!!!!!;)

The Toledo NNL is an event that I hope to attend some year. This year, or Classic Plastic Club in New England had our contest on the same day as the Toledo NNL. For 2010, we are having it in September, as I know Del Paone and others in our club really want to attend Toledo.

Thank you all who posted links and pics from the NNL! It's the next best thing to being there! B)

Tim - I have to agree. As I was placing my models, Tom Woodruff came up to me to say hello, as he always does and has done every year for the past umteen years, unless I say hello to him first. We have known each other since my model car club brought the Chrysler dealership and we always have fun at the NNL, even if it's only for a few minutes. I always say hello to Karen, the much younger half of the Woodruff family, and to everyone else that I can find at the show. For a small group, they sure do a big job and they do it very well!

I didn't see you this year, so I guess you were gallavanting around the grounds :) but I really like the Bonneville display. Yup, I brought 4 cars. That's part of the fun of the NNL, participating.

Every year I meet someone new and have a great chat about whatever that is hobby/car related. I was talking to a good friend today, one that I happened to meet during an NNL weekend a few years ago, and he was saying the same thing...it's not the models, it's the people. GREAT WEEKEND!

I saw a photo of that cup, it's been only 2 visits for me coming from Omaha it's almost 12 hours one way for me. However the people make this show my absolute favorite of the year and that is why I will drive so far and spend so much money to make it. I didn't make it this year, but I did a rent a car....long story but I will be there next year! The people/friends is exactly what attracts me and the models come second.
