Captain Obvious
Felt line a no-brainer build, so I picked up this kit during a 30%-off sale at Hobby Lobby. Paint is Testors One-Coat Root Beer lacquer with Wet-Look clear, interior is Testors Fabric Tan, vinyl top is Testors Wimbledon White topped with Dull-Cote. A built-up Revell '79 Z28 made the ultimate sacrifice and gave up its wheels and tires. Curbside, so no engine/chassis shots. It looks a LOT better in person than in pics...hope y'all like it! walt francis
That baby is a true knock out in the pics I love the wheels on it and the paint and if it looks better in person then it a true beauty.
Janne Herajärvi
Is that Revell snap kit Monte? I always say no for buying snap kits, but now.... let me think... Yes id like to have that kit now!
charlie8575
That Rootbeer color isn't too far off from the dark brown GM offered about that time. The Testors interior tan, to my eye, isn't too far off from the saddle interior, either. That looks really great. I'm going to be doing one in dark blue with a white/blue interior and a white vinyl top, Rallyes and whitewalls. Charlie Larkin

I may have to look for this kit. i had a 75, and have been wanting to do a replica, looks like it wouldn't be too hard convert it. Again, that is one sharp lookin Monte. Peter Lombardo
Very nice...back in the late 70's you used to see this car all over the place. My very good friend had the Buick version of this car, the Century Regal in the same color...the only difference was that the vinyl roof was the same color as the interior, the tan color. This brings back memories....very nice.
bsoder
That is a fine lookin' Monte!..wheels look great on it
leereyn
Nice looking Monte. My brother had a light blue 76. Monte Carlos, Olds Cutlass's, and Pontiac Grand Prix's were some the cool cars in my teenage years. Flip the breather lid, hit the gas and make the four barrels moan. lol Edited October 15, 2009 by leereyn
philo426
Looks great! I picked up the pre=painted low-rider version that I plan to make stock.I cut open the hood and realized that this wil be some work! The chassis has built-in engine detail that is overscale so I have to find a suitable donor chassis. Modellpularn
Looks good! You might not believe this, but there's a '73-'74 Chevelle here in Stockholm that has the same paint and wheels. Looks so much alike....
James W
Well done. Good wheel choice.

The body and interior are very nicely done. The chassis is another matter altogether. It has "adjustable" suspension for different poses. It doesn't hold together well. In fact, it's poor enough that I can't even get it to stay put long enough to epoxy it in place. You can use the frame/suspenion/floor-board off an AMT 1970 Monte, as they're the same chassis, and find an SBC to use as a colored slug for the engine, as it's a curbside, or, if you want to go for it, do!
