Great start, that roof looks like it was made for the merc.

If i may make a suggestion, i think if you did a wedge section out of the sides, it would make the car flow a little better.

I think you could put the Chezoom roof on a VW Beetle and it would look great. I like what you are doing and I like what you are thinking. You could slice a chunk out of the side, or do a pie wedge, or leave the side alone....just go where you are comfortable....great start.

Hey Guys:

Thanks for the input, I was thinking about the pie wedge and I guess that will be next with all the suggestion. I also plan on strighting out the body line and suicide doors.

Sadly that body is in such bad shape I plan to clone this car at a later date.

Jon, that "Other" mag has a VERY good article in it this month, by Tim Boyd, about how to section bodies. Just a plain simple sectioning job would do wonders with that body. And with the roof chopped that drasticly, it would take the height out of the body. I think it'll look good like that, but thats just me! ;)

Hey george:

I that article is very nice but I really think I'm going to do a pie section starting at 0 at the front doors and doing about 3" at the back. We see what that looks like and go from there. I wanting to add late model Caddy taillight (the tall slender ones) so I will be modifying the back anyway. I post pics when the sec is done.
